Turn architectural PDFs into a preliminary house model

Review the building shape and opening positions together, then correct the model before preparing a supplier brief.

What the model represents

A preliminary house model brings the building envelope and window and door positions into one editable view. It helps you see whether an opening belongs on the intended wall and whether the arrangement agrees with the drawings.

Fenestry is intended here for opening review and a supplier brief. The reconstruction does not establish structural design, a coordinated BIM deliverable, interior room geometry or manufacturing approval. A plausible exterior view alone does not prove the takeoff is complete.

An inspectable six-sheet example

Our synthetic drawing set describes one storey, a 40 ft by 26 ft footprint, 10 ft eaves and a 6 ft roof rise. It contains six windows, one entrance door and one sliding door: eight distinct openings. These are test drawings, not a real property or construction documents.

The plan establishes wall positions; four elevations establish opening placement and sill heights; the final sheet combines a section with a schedule. The windows measure 4 ft by 5 ft, the entrance 3 ft by 7 ft and the slider 8 ft by 7 ft. Window operation and frame subdivisions remain unspecified.

From a reconstruction to an editable brief

Select the relevant PDF pages and explicitly request AI analysis. Compare the resulting footprint, orientation, roof and opening positions with the selected sources. Correct geometry in the workspace and review unresolved proposals before exporting.

A previous import of this synthetic set was checked against its independently specified dimensions and positions. That single controlled case is a worked example, not a general accuracy benchmark. Your drawing set still needs its own review.

When more information is needed

A floor plan alone may not establish opening heights, sill levels or roof form. A schedule alone may not establish placement. If views disagree, record the conflict and request clarification rather than choosing the most convincing rendering.

The workspace also offers a separate editable demonstration house. Open the synthetic PDF linked above to inspect the eight-opening case described on this page.
