Download the blank schedule and example
Use this CSV template to record opening marks, dimensions, operation, finishes and the decisions your supplier still needs. It is intended for a preliminary project brief. You can download the files directly; there is no email form, account or automatic supplier submission.
The blank file contains a header and an empty row. The filled example contains three original teaching rows. The dictionary explains the same 16 columns. Each file is UTF-8 CSV with a byte-order mark, quoted fields and comma separators.
Open the file in a spreadsheet editor. If your locale does not split the columns automatically, use its text/CSV import option and select a comma delimiter and UTF-8 encoding. These are editable text tables, without macros, formulas or a connection to the Fenestry application.
What does each field mean?
The template separates a dimension value from its units and size basis. It also keeps source information and unresolved decisions alongside the specification. A filled cell is not an approval; the review status explains what is still outstanding.
| Column | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| mark | Unique opening identifier, used on the drawings | W01 |
| type | Shared specification type; repeated types are not extra openings | T01 |
| quantity | Number of physical units represented by this row | 1 |
| width | Dimension value; its basis is recorded separately | 1200 |
| height | Dimension value; its basis is recorded separately | 1500 |
| units | Explicit dimension units, such as mm or in | mm |
| size_basis | rough opening, unit/frame, clear opening, or unknown | rough opening |
| operation | Opening operation from the project legend; unknown if unresolved | fixed |
| view | View used to describe handing and appearance | exterior |
| interior_finish | Interior finish reference, subject to sample confirmation | unknown |
| exterior_finish | Exterior finish reference, subject to sample confirmation | white reference |
| source | Drawing sheet and relevant view or schedule row | Demo A-01 / south elevation |
| revision | Source drawing revision, not an invented approval status | Demo R1 |
| review_status | For example: unreviewed, needs clarification, reviewed for brief | unreviewed |
| unresolved | Missing decision or conflicting source; do not silently fill it | Confirm frame dimensions with supplier |
| owner | Role responsible for confirming the unresolved item | project reviewer |
For dimensions, identify whether you mean rough opening, unit/frame or clear opening. Do not assume a universal installation allowance. Check the actual manufacturer's product and installation information. The size-basis explanation includes a diagram and manufacturer references.
Three openings, two types and one unresolved size basis
The worked example uses unique marks W01, W02 and W03. W01 and W02 share type T01, but each row represents one physical opening. W03 is a different type, T02. The total is three units, not the number of times those marks appear in different views.
| Mark / type | Qty | Dimensions | Basis / operation | Outstanding decision |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| W01 / T01 | 1 | 1200 x 1500 mm | rough opening / fixed | Confirm frame dimensions with supplier |
| W02 / T01 | 1 | 1200 x 1500 mm | rough opening / fixed | Confirm frame dimensions with supplier |
| W03 / T02 | 1 | 900 x 1500 mm | unknown / unknown | Confirm size basis and opening operation |
W03 deliberately contains dimensions with an unknown size basis and unknown operation. Those values are not ready to order. Its review status remains "needs clarification", with the project designer named as the responsible role. The other rows also remain unreviewed.
The example and its Demo A-01 / R1 source references are illustrative. They do not refer to a real drawing package or to the Sonoran Courtyard model. Do not submit these rows as measured project information.
Fill the schedule without hiding missing information
- Choose the row convention. Use one row per physical opening when location or review decisions differ. If you group repeated units by type, make the quantity and drawing references explicit.
- Copy the source mark and revision. Keep the link to the actual plan, elevation or schedule. Do not create a second row merely because the same opening appears in another view.
- Record dimensions with units and a basis. Keep feet, inches or millimeters explicit. If the basis is missing, write "unknown" and add the question to the unresolved field.
- Separate operation from appearance. Record a fixed or operable choice from the legend, then note interior and exterior finish references separately. Confirm colors using physical samples when making a final selection.
- Assign outstanding decisions. Use the owner field for the role that must confirm the information. Keep a record of the resolved decision and its source rather than silently overwriting a disagreement.
Use "unknown" for information that has not been established. Use "not applicable" only when a field genuinely does not apply. An empty cell is ambiguous: it can mean omitted, forgotten or intentionally blank. The review notes should explain which meaning you intend.
Use the template for a supplier conversation
Share the schedule together with the authorized source drawings and the relevant revision references. Ask the supplier to confirm the required dimension basis, available operation and configuration, finish references and the additional information needed for a quotation or order.
This compact template does not contain every possible product or project requirement. Depending on the job, additional specifications and review may be needed for glazing, hardware, installation, certified performance and applicable regulations. Do not treat the 16 columns as a complete manufacturing specification.
The template does not calculate prices, verify structural or installation requirements, match suppliers or approve a purchase. Downloading it does not send a request to Windows Guy or a dealer. You decide how to share your completed document.
How is this different from a Fenestry export?
This is a standalone planning template, not a Fenestry import format. The application exports its own preliminary CSV from the current model. That output includes model-specific fields, manufacturing-review notes and separate sections for source coverage and unresolved import items.
The template offers a simpler place to organize a supplier discussion, including an owner and a review question for each row. It does not synchronize with the application, and opening it in a spreadsheet will not create a house model.
To inspect the actual application format before uploading plans, download the authored demo takeoff. To work visually, open the editable example and export the schedule from the workspace. Read the schedule guide if you need help connecting marks and dimensions to source views.
